Following the signing of an exclusive strategic agreement between Thomas Swan & Co. Ltd., and Concrene Limited in July 2020, the partnership has now progressed to supplying customers in the commercial concrete markets.
Graphene nanoplatelets, manufactured by Thomas Swan’s Advanced Materials Division, have been added to concrete that will be used in the production of fire pits by produced by Fairview Hearthside, a US based manufacturer of precast concrete products.
This is one of the first designs resulting from the partnership, and regular orders for the graphene-reinforced concrete will be received from next month onwards, following a period of joint development and approval.
Michael Edwards, Commercial Director – Advanced Materials at Thomas Swan said “This is the first significant step in our partnership with Concrene and we are delighted to be offering a new product to Fairview Hearthside, using our production-scale graphene nanoplatelets. Following our product successes in other application areas, this is our first in the concrete space and we are delighted to play a part in this new product launch.”
Dr Dimitar Dimov, Founder at Concrene Limited said “I am delighted to see that Concrene® is now past the trial phases and has successfully moved to full scale manufacturing in the US.
