Thomas Swan CEO visits Buckingham Palace To Talk Sustainability

On the 13th June Thomas Swan was represented by our CEO Harry Swan at the 30th Anniversary celebrations for the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) at Buckingham Palace. Hosted by CISL’s Patron, HRH the Prince of Wales, over 250 senior business leaders from around the World participated in a morning of workshops to determine the transformative action required to achieve a sustainable, carbon neutral future.

Mr Swan highlighted the need to engage SMEs with sustainability as 99% of companies in the UK are SMEs that generate 51% of the county’s turnover. At Thomas Swan we are already investing heavily to reduce our carbon footprint with over 50% of our electricity produced from a renewable source last year. This year investments to insulate our hot oil and steam systems are expected to save 1,700 tonnes of carbon and £130K of energy costs. Sustainability makes financial sense.
